Helping a Child with Math
The other day while substituting a math class, a tiny sixth grade boy turned in his class work. Obviously it was all wrong, because he had remainder 888 on all of his division problems. I sent him back to his desk and told him to redo all of his problems again. Well, he redid all of his problems and they were wrong again. I showed him how to divide numbers and the third time was a charm, because he went back to his desk, redid his work and got ALL of them right. He was so proud of himself! And I was pretty proud of him too. That's what teaching is all about!!! It's days like this that make it all worth it!!!
